We create expert and beautiful stained glass designs for you in any style: art nouveau, medieval, Victorian, minimalist, neo-classical, Edwardian, rustic, Tiffany or Moorish, for example.

We create stained glass designs for you on any theme: fairy tale, commemorative, Biblical, the Jazz Age, Shakespearian, historical, & cetera.

We draught all our stained glass designs in the traditional way, using pencil, pen, ink, and water-colour. This is because a beautiful design is the most important thing. True, the subsequent painting on glass involves artistry and skill; but the beauty of the glass painting is made possible by the coherence and loveliness of the underlying design.

Our designs also give you the confidence that we are making you something unique and lovely.

Visits and sketches

We meet you. We talk. We visit as often as necessary. Then we sketch. We produce a series of miniature outlines and suggestions. We show these to you and develop them further. We begin to draw more precisely. We produce a scale design to explore and exhibit proportions.

The play of ideas

We work vigourously and creatively with your ideas, and we suggest our own. This is the way that we prepare stained glass designs that will delight you.

Development

The scale design agreed, we now work full-size. Sometimes the first full-size design is prepared in graphite in order to let ideas develop further. The final draft is usually prepared in water-colour: this to indicate the textures of the glass, and the tints, hues and saturation of the colours themselves.
